Whole Wheat Chapatis

These are adapted from "How it All Vegan!" They taste authentic and the dough is beautiful!! They are so easy to make if you remember one thing - once you roll them out, fry them right away! Chapatis are an Indian bread usually served with dal or another lentil dish. Traditionally white flour is used, but I'm a health nut - what can I say?

1 1/2c whole wheat flour
1/2t salt
2T oil
3/4c water

In ceramic or glass bowl, stir together flour, salt and oil. Add water in slowly until you get a nice workable dough. Knead for 5 minutes, then cover for about an hour. Pull apart into 10 sections, roll sections into balls and then roll our into at least a 6" circle. Fry on dry skillet over med-high heat until lightly browned on both sides. Yum!
