Black Bean and Brown Rice Chili


"Gi-rrrrrl!" (must be said with a strong southern accent) "This is GOOD EATIN!!" Wish ya'll could smell the pot a cookin'!

2 - 15oz cans of black beans -drained
1 -14oz can crushed tomatoes - with juice
1/2c uncooked brown rice
1/2 cup vegi broth
1/2c coffee
1c water
1t onion powder
1t garlic powder
1/4t ground cumin
1/2t dried oregano
1t ground chipolte

Warm flour tortillas for serving

Put all ingredients in the crockpot, mix well. Cook on low 6-8 hours. Can be served as burritos or in soup bowls with a side of warm "buttered" tortillas.

mmm! Coffee was an unexpected ingredient to see! We don't make coffee at home, but this sans coffee may have to be our dinner one of these nights.
